Das Bethanien ist besetzt und ein Kampf um Definitionshoheit und Raumkonzeptionen entbrannt. In den Konflikt um Gehen oder Bleiben führen wir die Fiktion ein und sehen uns nach einem neuen Standort um. Säuberlich sezieren wir das Bethanien, extrahieren die Räume des Künstlerhauses und verpflanzen sie. Ort des Transfers ist das Gelände des einstigen Vergnügungsparks Spreepark in Treptow. Ateliers, Werkstätten, Ausstellungssäle, Büros, Lager und Clubraum werden campusartig zwischen Fun-Express und Dino-World, Kentucky-Ride und Megaloop arrangiert. Die urbane Künstlerkolonie betritt die Bühne der Stadt und übernimmt in den Ruinen des Spreeparks ihre Rolle im Prozess der Tivolisierung.
Nach 30 Jahren Krankenhausaufenthalt bietet der Ausflug ins Grüne Gelegenheit zur Frage, wie sich eine Perfect Location zusammensetzt in den Koordinaten von Wohnen und Arbeiten, Privatheit und Öffentlichkeit, Produktion und Präsentation, Diskurs und Praxis, Publikum und Partizipation, Drinnen und Draußen. Wieviel Institutionalisierung braucht oder verträgt ein solcher Ort? Welche Hybride zwischen Bleiben und Nomadisieren entstehen? Welche Chancen haben kollektive Konzepte? Welche Rolle spielen die Künstler auf der Bühne der Stadt?

The Bethanien has been squatted and a struggle about the sovereignty of definition and conception of space has erupted. In the conflict about who should stay and who should go we introduce fiction as we look to a new location. Meticulously we dissect the Bethanien, extract its spaces and transplant them. The new site is the grounds of the Spreepark, a former amusement park in Berlin Treptow. There the studios, offices, workshops, exhibition spaces and storage will be set down in a campus-like arrangement between Fun-Express und Dino-World, Kentucky-Ride und Megaloop. The urban artists’ colony arrives on the city’s stage and appropriates the ruins of the Spreepark as part of the process of Tivolization.
After 30 years in the hospital an excursion into nature is an opportunity to ask how a Perfect Location is constituted within the coordinates of living and working, private and public, production and presentation, discourse and practice, audience and participation, inside and outside. How much institutionalization does such a location require? How much can it handle? What kinds of hybrids are possible between sedimentary and nomadic conditions? What is the potential for concepts of collectivity? What is the role of artists on the urban stage?
